We are delighted to be working with one of West Yorkshire’s best known country inns and restaurants on their journey to re-open following a devastating fire on Boxing Day last year.
Set in the rolling, green Pennines, the 3 Acres has been owned by the Truelove family since 1968. Renowned for it’s culinary offering, the 3 Acres’ chefs have previously prepared food for high-profile guests including Rick Stein, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osborne.
The fire on Boxing Day 2024 was quickly extinguished and nobody was injured, but the heat and smoke damage to the building was extensive. The business has been closed to the public since the fire but the Truelove family have now embarked on an extensive renovation project with a view to welcoming customers #BackToTheAcres in June 2025.
Lead contractor Radcliffe Construction is due to start work on site imminently and will carry out an extensive programme of works to the entire building, including a complete kitchen rebuild, to bring the much-loved restaurant back to its former glory.
Vizulate was commissioned by marketing consultant Alex Mason, in the first instance to create a temporary micro-site (that went live earlier this week) that will allow the business to share the progress and development of the renovation project with customers in detail. This will be followed by the creation of a full ecommerce website that will allow customers to book tables and rooms when the venue is in a position begin taking bookings again.
Speaking about their appointment, Vizulate managing director Scott Brant said, “When I was growing up I didn’t live too far from the 3 Acres and often visited for private celebrations and events with family and friends. I was shocked to read about the fire last year and subsequent closure. It’s just always been there in its iconic setting looking up at one of the region’s most recognisable landmarks; Emley Moor Mast.
“I’m delighted that we’ll play a part in the reopening of the Acres and its long history.”
3 Acres owner Tom Truelove had a message for those eager to know when the business would open its doors again: “We hope that you will all join us on this long road to recovery, and when the exciting stuff starts, we’ll be sure to show you it as it all unfolds. Thank you for your continued love and support, and we can’t wait to start filling up the diary as soon as we have a definite date.”
