On September 11th 2014 Vizulate Digital Ltd was established.
Our managing director Scott Brant spoke about the journey the company has been on over the last 10 years...
Wow! Where to begin?
I had just turned 30 when we started this business and now I’m 40. I really don’t know where a decade has gone. Thankfully I still have all my hair, it’s just a much lighter shade now.
Had I known in 2014 that as a young business we’d face the challenges of Brexit, a global pandemic that would bring the world to a halt, and several flirtations with recession, then I might have thought twice about starting a digital agency.
However, the positives have far outweighed the stresses of the challenges we faced.
I’ve met some great people who have built and run successful businesses in diverse industries – many of which are still clients to this day and have gone on to become people I now consider friends.
The business has evolved several times over the last 10 years; sometimes by choice, sometimes by necessity, but I genuinely feel today we have the clearest identity of who we are and what we do best.
In an industry renowned for high staff and client turnover I am immensely proud that we have only lost 2 members of staff in 10 years.
We are so lucky to have a really good team in place and we do our utmost to ensure they are happy in work. A key driver for me starting this business was I was unhappy in my previous agency role. I had no work-life balance and didn’t feel supported.
We have a fantastic group of loyal people who are passionate about what they do, take pride in their work, and understand the importance of good customer service.
There are many businesses that do what we do, so competition is fierce. But I still believe that a key differentiator for us is the level of service we provide.
In my opinion, this country has a terrible approach towards customer service across many industries; good service is the exception rather than the rule. I believe our responsive, high quality delivery of services, coupled with honest advice (sometimes to the detriment of our revenue) is why many of our early clients are still with us to this day.
As it was for most businesses, lockdown was a pretty nerve-racking period for us and a challenge I hope I don’t have to face again as the owner of a business.
Naturally businesses, including current and potential clients, were very cautious after the pandemic (as were we). I think the UK is in for a challenging 18-24 months but I do feel that we are now seeing a renewed sense of optimism. We have won more new business this year to date than the previous 2 years combined.
Finally, thank you to all of our clients, suppliers and partners for your business and support over the last 10 years – and here’s to the next 10!
